In between Seattle to the North and our state capital of Olympia to the South, you'll find Tacoma. Tacoma nicknamed the "City of Destiny" because the city was chosen to be the western terminus of the Northern Pacific Railroad. It also has the nickname"Grit City", I think because of its hard-working, roll up your sleeves and get to it attitude, and its authentic, down-to-earth nature, but me...I just call it "T-Town". What I love about T-Town is its eclectic mix of people, its love of the arts, and its abundance of museums (The Museum of Glass, with its Chihuly Bridge of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum, Washington State History Museum, The Children's Museum, and the LeMay Car Museum). Tacoma also has some fantastic restaurants, shops, parks and of course beautiful scenery.
